Fruited Pizza in Nut Crust

CRUST:

            1/2 c. butter softened

            3/4 c. flour

            1/4 tsp. salt

            1/3 c. brown sugar

            1 c. ground pecans

CHEESE LAYER:

            8 oz. cream cheese

            3/4 c. granulated sugar

             1 tsp. vanilla

FRUIT LAYER:

            Fresh fruit using assortment of thinly sliced fruits such as banana, kiwi,  pineapple, strawberries, peach,

            grape halves, melon, blueberries, etc.

GLAZE:

            1/4 c. granulated sugar

            2 Tbsp. cornstarch

            1 Tbsp. lemon juice

            1 c. orange juice

            1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together butter, flower, salt, brown sugar and ground pecans with a pastry blender.  Pat into pizza pan.  Bake 8-10 minutes at 300º until edges turn brown.  Cool. 

Blend together cream cheese, granulated sugar and vanilla and spread over cooled crust. 

Arrange fruits attractively over the cheese in swirl pattern.

Mix cornstarch and sugar in small saucepan.  Add vanilla and fruit juices.  Heat on low until thickened, stirring constantly.  Cool.  Spread cooled glaze over fruit.  Refrigerate 4-6 hours or over night.

This is a spectacular dessert for entertaining, or to take to the next potluck!!
