NUTCRACKER HUNTS:   DAILY AT THE NUTCRACKER MUSEUM
(Our version of the Scavenger Hunt).  Nutcracker hunts have been designed for all ages from 3 to 103. Preschooler will have line drawings of Mickey Mouse, a man with a long nose, a clown, or maybe an elephant. Then with each year the lists get harder and harder as older students look for a monkey with a top hat and Benjamin Franklin with his kite while adults have their own special hunts. Each list will take the hunter to different parts of the museum, and by doing the hunt, they actually see much more of the museum collection. This activity is extremely popular, bringing families back year after year.

NUTCRACKER DAY:  JUNE 28, 2025
Each year the museum has a special day devoted to the nutcracker. Special events are held for visitors with raffles, Drehorgel music and prizes. The history of the nutcrackers will be shown on video. Because of the prevalence of nut allergies, only on this special day, visitors can actually crack hazelnuts with antique nutcrackers.  www.nutcrackerday.com

Our Mission Statement

"To foster and encourage the interest of the general public of the importance of nuts in the diets of humans throughout history and in the evolution of the nutcracker. No other tool or collectible has shown such a wide diversity of material and design as the implements used to crack the hard shell of a nut".
