MY FAVORITES…People always what is my favorite nutcracker, and I always
answer that I have many favorites--- Maybe it is the season, or the weather,
or the mood I’m in, but here is my list for today……..

Favorite “Put you in the Holiday Mood”
nutcracker---The Christmas Tree, created by Christian Ulbricht
especially for the museum, each frond individually carved. |

Favorite “What is it made of”
nutcracker…This screw is made of Narwal tusk. Known as the “Unicorn
of the Sea”, the Narwal has a long, fearsome tusk that grows through
his lip. |
|
|
|
Favorite of Children’s Nutcracker Hunts…This
delightful Clown with Balloons was designed and painted by Susan
Milford, and turned by her husband Walt. |
|
|
|
Favorite of Youth’s Nutcracker Hunts…This
Lizard, carved in Poland, is resting on a stick waiting for an
insect to enter his domain. |
|
|
|
Favorite of Adult Nutcracker Hunts…A
Duck going Hunting…designed in America, produced in China. This is
hunting season and the duck is getting even! |
|
|
|
Favorite “Scary”
nutcracker….Ooooh, yes, this guy’s eyes seem to follow you as you
walk along…creepy!!! |
|
|
|
Favorite “Makes you Laugh”
nutcracker….The Little General from Sonneberg makes me laugh every
time I pass by. |
|
|
|
Favorite “Really Cracks a Nut”
nutcracker….This Toy Soldier by Ulbricht’s Seiffener Nussknackerhaus
can actually be used to crack a nut for you. |
|
|
|
Favorite “Now that is just plain Wacky”
nutcracker…This bug-eyed, mischievous frog was crafted by one of our
talented local students for our “Make Your own Nutcracker” contest.

|
Favorite of “George’s Favorites”…”Karl”
of course---the 6 foot tall happy Bavarian, carved by Karl Rappl of
Oberammergau and was always introduced by George as his favorite
beer drinking partner! |

Nutcracker Museum Mission Statement:
"To foster and encourage the interest of the general public of the
importance of nuts in the diets of humans throughout history and in the
evolution of the nutcracker. No other tool or collectible has shown such
a wide diversity of material and design as the implements used to crack
the hard shell of a nut".
Museum Admission:
Adults - $5.00 (Ages 17 - 64yrs)
Seniors - $3.50
(Age 65yrs +)
Youth - $2.00 (Ages 6 - 16yrs)
Child - FREE (Ages 0 - 5yrs)
