Welcome to one of the largest collection of nutcrackers in the world!
There is no other tool or collectible that comes in as many designs
and materials as the nutcracker and you will see no greater variety in the
world than that shown in the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum in Washington’s
Bavarian Village.
From the nutting stones of the Archaic
period to modern day acrylics---hand forged or molded metals from iron to
silver and gold--various woods individually carved over the centuries or
mass produced--bone, horn, ivory, and even porcelain. The designs represent
the artistic styles of the many periods or regional cultures or just that of
a very talented individual—all created in the quest to retrieve the
delicious morsel hidden inside the nutshell.
About Us
Everyone finds something special, from the toddler who laughs with glee
when Mickey Mouse comes into view, to the most discerning world traveler
who discovers antique specimens the quality of those displayed in the
most prestigious museums of London, Paris, and New York. Visitors from
India discover a betel cutter display larger than any in their own
country, and those who collect the German wooden toy soldier nutcrackers
will be in Nutcracker Heaven as they will find nutcrackers on display
from over 50 makers, both current and past. The mechanically talented
man will be fascinated with the many patented instruments designed to
crack the pecan nut which is native only to America, and those
interested in archeology will study the nutting stones.

Our Mission Statement
"To foster and encourage the interest of the general public of the
importance of nuts in the diets of humans throughout history and in the
evolution of the nutcracker. No other tool or collectible has shown such
a wide diversity of material and design as the implements used to crack
the hard shell of a nut".
